Semillon is the predominant variety in the 2020 Inkerman Road ‘Semillon et al’ due to the year, it also includes Sauvignon Blanc. The fruit comes from the estate and was handpicked, chilled, crushed and lightly pressed followed by French oak barrel fermentation. The nose shows white nectarines and citrus which follows onto the palate with crisp acidity and a long, lingering mouth-feel. Best served chilled and is ready to drink.

From the producer

Sorrenberg Vineyard was established in 1984. It is a 3 hectare vineyard at an elevation of 560 meters.
The vineyards are set mainly on granite rock with a sandy loam, which does have the advantage of being on the border where the granite meets the red mudstone, giving the soil greater water holding capacity. The finesse and elegance of Sorrenberg wines can be attributed to the fact that it is one of the highest vineyards on granite soil in the Beechworth region. The varieties grown are Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon, Gamay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and small amounts of Cabernet Franc, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Gris and Merlot.

The Rhino block named after Barry’s maternal-grandfather’s Cosgrove vineyard, was established in 2005 at an elevation of 595 meters. This is a dry grown block on granite soils. Varieties planted are Chardonnay, Gamay, Sauvignon Blanc, and small amounts of Malbec, Petit Verdot, and Carmenere.

Bindarra block is named after Barry’s paternal-grandfather’s original Shepparton orchard. Elevation 595 meters on granite soils. The vines were planted in 2019, varieties planted are Grenache, Mourvedre, Shiraz, Carignan, Cinsault, Gamay, Malbec, and Chardonnay. Grenache and Gamay are going to be established as bush vines.
