Dark, rich red colour and nose of great depth and concentration. Complex aromas of dark fruit, olives, spices; background minerality and pepper.
Palate that is rich, concentrated and tightly structured, with a long smooth and silky textured mouth feel: excellent balance. A wine to stand with the best Northern Rhone.
Winemaking The grapes are hand picked into small buckets to avoid bruising the berries and to select only the best fruit, fermented in 500kg open vats, hand plunged, basket pressed and matured in French oak (new 25%). The wine is racked 2 to 3 times during maturation and is lightly fined but not filtered.
