Of a ruby red color. Presents fruity and spicy notes with hints of red fruit jam, earth, coffee and cocoa. The taste is full and soft at the same time, with a persistence played between a strong tannin and nuances of plum and spices.
The Rocca di Frassinello winery was born in the Maremma from a first and far-sighted collaboration between an Italian and a French company: a project designed by Domain Barone of Rothschild-Lafite in light of the great value of Paolo Panerai's Cantina di Castellare.
Towards the end of the 90s, the Castellare di Castellina winery wanted to look beyond the Chianti Classico area, looking for a new territory that could offer high quality and great particularity at the same time.
From this first magnificent meeting, the second, important one for the winery followed: the agreement between Castellare and Domaines Barons de Rothschild. The project envisioned following Castellare's historical experience in the cultivation and vinification of the Tuscan prince grape, Sangiovese, and Lafite on the classic French vines, Cabernet (Franc and Sauvignon), Merlot, Petit Verdot and Shiraz.
