Fongoli is a family-run winery now in its fourth generation, in which warmth and passion are the soul of what lies behind the production of Fongoli wine.

It is based on one of the hilly summits of Montefalco in Umbria, a fundamental center for regional wine production.

The land of the Fongoli winery extends over about 35 hectares, where, in addition to vineyards, we find woods, meadows and a natural truffle. The whole area is cultivated with certified organic practices, and with principles that also refer to biodynamic agriculture. The vineyards are alternated with tall trees, to guarantee biodiversity, and the vines are treated only with self-produced copper sulphate and lime and with mine powdered sulfur. Between the rows, different types of native and international grapes are grown, starting from Sagrantino, Trebbiano Spoletino and Grechetto, to arrive at Sangiovese, Merlot, Montepulciano and Cabernet Sauvignon. In the cellar the reds are traditionally produced, while for the whites constant attention is paid to oxidation and respect for the typical aromas of the varietals; fermentation takes place spontaneously, and, starting from the 2017 vintage, all wines are naturally clarified with decanting, without carrying out any filtration.

Fongoli presents a beautiful range of labels, made according to a tradition that has been going on for four generations, which gives birth to typical and territorial wines, from which the personality of the Montefalco terroir emerges. Precisely for this reason, among the various products, the various expressions of the Sagrantino di Montefalco DOCG, above all the “Fracanton”, and the whites of the territory, such as the Grechetto “La Palmetta”, deserve an in-depth analysis. In short, pure and sincere expressions, true and authentic, which tell the magnificent and prestigious territory of Montefalco in every sip.
